The case against a St. Catherine man and woman arrested and charged after a gun was allegedly found in a purse in a bedroom is due to be heard in gun court on November 11.

The case was transferred to High Court today by Parish Judge Tracey-Ann Johnson of St Catherine Parish Court.

Shackera Dawkins, 26, and Raldon Foster, 22, both of Gregory Park, Portmore St Catherine, were later remanded in custody by Johnson.

They are both charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to the allegations, on October 17, police officers, armed with a warrant, searched a house in Gregory Park.

Upon entering the accommodation, both parties were seen in bed.

Police allegedly searched a purse in the bedroom and discovered an illegal gun.

Both parties were taken into custody on suspicion of violating the gun law.

They were later charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
