Mid-weight naked street bikes like the Yamaha MT-09 are certainly among the most versatile machines that can be fitted with accessories to suit a variety of applications. Bare bikes can very easily be fitted with a kit to make them track ready machines, urban commuters, sportsmen and sometimes even adventurers. As such, many aftermarket accessory manufacturers build their entire product catalogs on these versatile machines.
German motorcycle luggage and accessories manufacturer SW-Motech recently launched a range of accessories for the new and improved 2021 Yamaha MT-09. The bike is practically a new bike from the ground up, with a redesigned frame, suspension and engine. The bodywork and general styling has also been changed, which certainly means that many accessories from the previous generation model are no longer compatible. With this, SW-Motech’s product catalog for the new MT-09 seeks to offer increased functionality through numerous luggage options, and of course, protection, via its bumpers and sliders.
Some notable products include five new options in the Pro bag model line-up. With storage space ranging from a compact six-liter to an 18-liter travel-ready, these bags are compatible with SW-Motech’s exclusive Street-Rack luggage rack. Choose between the Pro Roadpack suitable for daily commuting and the spacious and robust Pro Travelbag. Those of you looking for a more conventional approach to luggage can also opt for the Urban ABS Top Case which mounts to a rear rack. With a capacity of 19.5 liters, it’s just the right size to carry your daily essentials, whether for work or play.
Of course, no bike can be fully accessorized without the necessary crash protection. SW-Motech’s range of accessories for the MT-09 includes tubular steel bumpers designed to protect the motor crankcase and engine block of the motorcycle in the event of a rollover. The bumper mounts directly to the frame of the bike and is finished in a sleek and subtle matte black. A black aluminum windshield is also available. However, judging by its design, it’s there primarily for aesthetics and doesn’t seem to offer significant wind protection.
All these products and many other options specific to the MT-09 2021 are available on the official website of SW-Motech whose link can be found in the sources below. If you own the MT-09’s little brother, the MT-07, SW-Motech also released a range of accessories for this bike quite recently, so be sure to check that out as well.
