Huishan Zhang considers his spring collection to be a postcard for his customers. âHe said, ‘We miss you; it’s been a tough time, but there is always something to find beauty in. He comes from Italy via China, where Zhang has been since his fall 2020 show, and more specifically the sumptuous Villa Arconati.
The moonlighting models as well as the well-traveled women having a fabulous time in the 17th century palace are the protagonists of this season. They are, of course, much like Zhang’s loyal customers, the ones who demanded trendy thrift stores despite not having much to do during the pandemic. âThe Huishan Zhang women all have power and elegance within them; they love luxury, craftsmanship and originality and they really love life, âsaid the designer trained by Dior.
The new collection sparkles with this positivity. From the intense color palette – a cacophony of tangerine, fuchsia, apple green, orchid pink, and lapis blue – to its usual sprays of lightness inducing marabou feathers, it was, as Zhang said, fashion “to feel the atmosphere”.
But while much of the collection reads like Huishan Zhang’s usual headlines, he also used the pandemic to line up the casual pieces to mix and match with his shiny evening wear, like t-shirts and shirts. t-shirt dresses laced with crystal jewelry and embroidered shirts and ribboned jackets.
These new-look partings might not win over a different audience for her, but for women who share her “beauty instinct” there was much to celebrate. As Zhang said, âAn evening dress is not just an evening dress; it represents the hope for a better future. You cannot dispute this strategy of happiness.
