So a lot of choice, so many possibilities. Slipping into the Peekaboo Bar pop-up in the Galleria’s Fendi boutique, a girl might be bowled over while being thrilled to be able to fully customize her very own mini Peekaboo handbag.

The Italian heritage mark toured the colorful Peekaboo bar across the country and until Oct. 5, Houstonians have the option of hopping on one of the bar stools and envisioning the myriad of combinations for a unique, bespoke bag. In essence, it’s about making your own It bag.

Imagine your mini Hello with the Defender (the fabric side covers of the bag) embroidered in your initials, name or something like “Pi Beta Phi” or “Mad for Milano”.

In total there are 60 different available components to choose from, mixing and matching four of the handbag elements – the bag body, the handle, the Defender holster and the Tie yourself up. Which body material would you choose from the range of jeans, leather, embroidery, sheepskin or exotic? Do you prefer crocodile, ostrich, lizard or python?

And then there’s the handle to consider. Should you opt for leather, sheepskin, plexiglass, sequins or crocodile? After that you need to decide what color.

The defenders, Fendi Notescan be embroidered with tone-on-tone or contrasting color thread to embroider a customer’s name, initials or meaningful words. For the finishing touch, customers can choose from a selection of eight different colors Tie yourself up options with the Fendi FF logo.

Who knew buying a handbag could be a creative pleasure, especially the iconic mini Peekaboo?

Fendi introduced the Peekaboo in 2008 for the Spring 2009 collection and it quickly achieved handbag status and has since established itself as the cornerstone of classic must-have bags. It was designed by Silvia Venturini-Fendi, granddaughter of Adele and Edoardo Fendi, who founded the brand as a small leather and fur workshop in Rome in 1925.
