Two men have been arrested after an elderly woman was robbed in Darlington – as police call for witnesses.
The 70-year-old victim was waiting for his bus in Yarm Road when a man grabbed his purse and fled.
The incident happened at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 18 at a bus stop on Yarm Road, opposite the junction with Teal Road.

The suspect fled through the grounds of St Herbert’s Church towards Albatross Way after grabbing the retiree’s purse.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: “The man is described as being Caucasian, of medium build, in his mid-thirties to late thirties and about 5ft 3in to 5ft 5in tall.
“He was wearing dark colored clothing, a black beanie and a high visibility tabard with gray stripes.”
Two men were arrested in connection with the incident. They have been questioned by officers and released under investigation while investigations continue.
Agents in Darlington are now asking anyone with CCTV cameras in the area to check their footage for a man matching this description between 8 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
