Passionate about proving her rightness, Eda Lourdes is at the head of a brand founded on the celebration of the individuality, multifunctionality and diversity of fashion.
Originally from the picturesque and culturally diverse Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, Eda Lourdes was introduced to the creative world from a young age through her involvement in dance, modeling, television and theater. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2000 from the University of Puerto Rico. Then completed an MBA in 2007 at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. For fifteen years, she worked in the finance and investment industry before turning to fashion to follow her innate art with the encouragement of her teachers and mentors.
In New York, she took the first step towards realizing her dreams and attended Parsons at the New School for Art & Design. She moved from New York to Paris, the fashion capital of the world, to follow her creative passion. She then gained experience in the fashion industry working for big fashion houses such as Kenzo, IRO, Apparis, Miriam Budet, Koshka Paris and Lemloren.
With her extensive knowledge of design and insider experience in the industry, Eda has revolutionized the fashion industry; his interests in multifunctionality, storytelling and style are so sharp that his props generate enormous interest and desire. To further imprint her legacy in the fashion field, she launched her handbag line, EDALOU PARIS, using her management skills to bring the sole proprietorship to shattering success.
With Mantra: rock, dance and love, Edaʼs desire is to create for visionary, professional, demanding, active and stylish women. Her designs are inspired by the women in her life, starting with her mother, her aunts and her loyal girlfriends. His second muse is his love affair with the lifestyle, culture and fashion of his favorite cities: San Juan, New York and Paris. Her travels between these three fashion cities inspired her designs and greatly influenced her life and dreams.
In May 2019, she landed the New York Independent Handbag Designer Awards nomination, which led her to dream of launching her luxury creation, La Coucou. Then, in April 2021, La Coucou received an award from the largest and most widely distributed international design competition in the world: A Design Award & Competition.
In addition to running a successful handbag brand, Eda Lourdes is also the proud mother of her two children – Yohan and Jarod. So it’s incredible to witness all of her accomplishments, given that she changed careers at age 37, going from vice president of a financial institution to starting all over again and learning the intricacies of the banking industry. fashion while being a mother.
In the years to come, the passionate entrepreneur wants to grow and develop his business. “I want to continue to develop our product line (handbags and jewelry), do more collaborations with other like-minded designers and brands and start teaching others what I have learned so far to inspire other women and give back, ”she said.
