Vancouver man faces kidnapping allegation after trying to push 16-year-old girl in luggage at a local Target store, court records show.

Francis Anthony Azzarella II, 29, appeared in Clark County Superior Court Monday morning on suspicion of sexually motivated second-degree kidnapping. Judge Gregory Gonzales set Azzarella’s bail at $ 125,000. He will be arrested on October 15.

Vancouver Police were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. Saturday to the Target at 7809 NE Vancouver Plaza Drive, Suite C with a report of an assault that had just occurred. The agent contacted the 16-year-old at the loss prevention office, the affidavit states.

The teenager said that while shopping in the electronics department with her friend, an unknown man, later identified by police as Azzarella, approached them. Azzarella was carrying luggage from the store and put it on the floor, court records show.

He then grabbed the girl and tried to push her into the luggage. The teenager’s friend pushed her away. When asked what he was doing, Azzarella reportedly said, “I’m trying to make her sexy (curse) here,” according to the affidavit.

Another client, Samuel White, intervened and escorted Azzarella away from the girls, court records show.

The teenager told police she was scared and believed Azzarella was trying to kidnap her, the affidavit states.
