Best Foot Forward, a family-owned shoe and leather restoration business, moves to Alexandria.
The store has been located on Pentagon Row in Arlington for over 20 years and is moving to a new home at the Bradlee Shopping Center. Their last day at Pentagon Row will be June 25. The Alexandria site will open the first week of July.
“According to the Shoe Service Institute of America, as a result of the COVID pandemic, more than 75% of all shoe repair shops in the United States have closed. Most people have stayed home and have swapped their dress shoes for slippers. , greatly affecting our industry. We were in big trouble, but with our loyal customer base and their help in spreading the word, we struggled through that, reinvented ourselves and are still came out better on the other side,” said Victoria Lopez, Chief Operating Officer at Best Foot Forward.
The company has adapted and added services and products, including leather restoration services, luggage repair, designer bag repair, and maintenance and service for collectible shoes and trainers, leather and more. Additionally, the boutique will sell American-made handbags, leather care products, and handmade leather goods.
The store will be located at 3686 King Street, on the west side of the mall.
Bradlee Shoe Repair, located at the other end of the mall, closed during the pandemic.
